Trust and transparency

How onboarding works

Switching data or database providers is the part most people dread. Here is exactly what happens in your first 30 days with us, week by week, so there is nothing left to guess at.

Days 1 to 5

Discovery

We meet your team, agree objectives and map the estate. No surprises later because we do the digging first.

  • Kick off call with named engineer and account lead
  • Inventory of servers, databases, platforms and licences
  • Review of existing tickets, incidents and known pain points
  • Agreed priorities, risks and success measures

Days 6 to 12

Documentation

We write down what we found so the knowledge sits with you, not in someone's head.

  • Environment and architecture documentation
  • Backup, recovery and patching baseline
  • Escalation matrix and named contacts on both sides
  • Runbook for the top recurring issues

Days 13 to 20

Access handover

Least privilege access, properly recorded, with your incumbent supplier handled professionally.

  • Access requested, granted and logged against named individuals
  • MFA, privileged access and credential storage agreed
  • Structured handover from any outgoing provider
  • Change control and approval process signed off

Days 21 to 30

Monitoring live

Alerting switched on, SLAs active, and the first improvement work already underway.

  • Monitoring and alert thresholds tuned to your estate
  • Out of hours cover live where contracted
  • First service review booked
  • Quick win remediation started on the highest risks

Who does what

What we need from you

  • A named point of contact who can approve access
  • Two to three hours of your team's time in week one
  • Visibility of existing documentation, however rough
  • Sign off on the change control process

What you get from us

  • A named engineer, not a rota of strangers
  • Written documentation you own and keep
  • Weekly progress updates through onboarding
  • A 30 day review with findings and recommendations

FAQ

Onboarding questions, answered

  • Yes. Where an estate is small or already documented we regularly complete onboarding in two weeks. Where an incumbent supplier is being replaced, or access is slow to grant, it can run slightly longer. We tell you which situation you are in during discovery, not afterwards.
